CanAm Spyder F3T battery replacement

I haven't been riding enough these days and the vehicle mostly sits in the garage. I do have it connected to a trickle charger (battery tender plus brand) but still the battery eventually stopped working. It did serve for 8 years so did live its life.

I purchased the new battery off amazon and was plesantly surprised that it arrived way before the estimated delivery date. So following are the steps to remove the old and install the new.

Start off by opening the frunk and removing the plastic cover and bin.

The plastic bin is held by 4 plastic rivet-like plugs. Use a flat head screw driver to pull the top part half way and then the bottom part.

Wore gloves and then removed the screw attached to the negative terminal (left) first and then the positive terminal (right). Used a regular philips head scre driver. I did put painter's tape over the ends so that they do not accidentally touch anywhere.

Next is to remove the rubber clamp or stap which is attached to a metal bracket which hooks into the body of the vehicle. The metal bracket sits on top of the battery.

Pull the battery out and replace it with the new battery. Following picture shows where the metal bracket connects to the vehicle body. The battery will be under this bracket.

Used the new hardware that came with the battery and attached the red terminal first and then the black. There will be a small spark when attaching the black connector which is normal.

That's it. Verified that the battery is snug fit in the cavity and then started the vehcile. Put the plastic bin back, attached the plastic rivets and then the other plastic cover. The extra wires cnnected to the battery terminals are for the tricle charger. My install here

One more job done.
